CIRCUITO CLAPS WON

BOARDING PASS PLUS CALL 2025-2027 BY THE ITALIAN MINISTRY OF COLTURE, ALLOWING US TO BRING THE FIFTH EDITION OF CIRKAROUND TO LIFE!

We feel so proud to have won the call for the fifth time, and this time with the highest score among all the projects presented in Italy (theatre, dance, circus, music and multidisciplinary).

CirkAround 2025-2027 is a project by Circuito CLAPS in partnership with 4 Italian partners (Industria Scenica, Cie Madame Rebiné) and 13 foreign entities from 7 different countries:
• Circostrada, Esacto’Lido, La Grainerie, Cratère Surfaces (France)
• Alapista!, Cia La Baldufa, Institut Ramon Llull (Catalunya/Spain)
• Cirkus Cirkor (Sweden)
• Festival UP (Belgium)
• ISACS (Ireland)
• CCHAR, Festival La Plage des Six Pompes (Switzerland)
• Restart Theater Athens (Greece)

The projects aims to internationalise the careers of contemporary circus and physical theatre artists, thanks to the organisation of training and experiential events in Italy and abroad. With CirkAround, 4 artists – selected by a national call – have the opportunity to travel outside the national borders, enhancing their skills and starting a professional career in Italy and abroad. The project responds to the BOARDING PASS PLUS call by the Italian Ministry of Culture, which aims to facilitate access to training, exchange and experience in the international performing arts scene for Italian actors, performers, musicians and dancers.
As an innovative feature for this edition, the Ministry call asks to cooperate with some of the international partners to build a little tournée for 2 companies. For CirkAround, Greece, Spain and Switzerland will host 2 the companies that we are going to select. We applied for contemporary circus and offer the participants:
• masterclasses with Italian and international sector experts, on administration, communication of one’s artistic project, fundraising through calls, distribution of a show, legislative frameworks, festival planning. On the international level, the masterclasses concern contexts in countries other than Italy and the teachers involved (artists, programmers, directors, teachers of circus and physical theatre schools, etc.) share some of their best practices and experiences.
• Chances of creating networks, building bridges that start from Italy and connect it to the most diverse European and non-European contexts, through the participation to festivals, meetings, workshops and ad hoc labs all over Europe. The route also includes an internship period in the teams of the Italian project partners, in order to deal first-hand with the organisational and logistical aspects of complex events.

We launched the national call to select the 4 artists to be part of the educational project, who will be selected within late February 2026.
Stay tuned for next steps!
